Meet Mia: The Dog Behind PACKMATE®
Share
PACKMATE® wasn't designed for motorcycles. That's not how it started.
It started because of a dog named Mia — and the fact that I wasn't willing to leave her behind.
Mia's Condition
Mia got sick. She had a condition that took away her ability to move around the way she used to. She couldn't go on walks. Couldn't keep up. For a while, it wasn't clear how much she'd recover.
I needed a way to carry her — not just around the block, but everywhere we went. So I built a backpack. No grand plan, no business idea. Just a guy who needed to carry his dog and couldn't find anything that worked.
Then She Got Better
Mia recovered. She was going to be able to walk again. The backpack I built for her health situation was no longer something she needed.
But at that point I was living in Colombia, and I had a motorcycle.
I still wanted to bring her with me when I rode. So I kept using it — strapped on my back, Mia riding along. It worked. Better than anything else out there. And that's when things started to shift.
Colombia. COVID. A Long Road.
This whole project started during COVID. That was years ago now. What followed was a long road — prototype after prototype, setback after setback, problems I didn't anticipate and had to solve from scratch. It wasn't a clean story. It was a grind.

But that grind is exactly what shaped the final product. Every flaw in every early version got fixed. Every complaint, every test ride, every time something wasn't right — it got addressed. That's how you end up with something actually good.
What PACKMATE® Became
It grew into something bigger than Mia's story. PACKMATE® now serves two kinds of people: dog owners whose dogs have health conditions or mobility issues and need to be carried — and riders who simply want their dog riding alongside them.
Both are valid. Both matter. The carrier handles both.
The Final Product
What you're looking at today is years of refinement. Not version one. Not a prototype. The fully developed, road-tested design that came out of all of it.
I'm proud of it. Not because it was easy — because it wasn't. Because of everything it took to get here, and because Mia started it all.
She still rides with me. That's the whole point.
