What does the PACKMATE® warranty cover?

We offer a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty on each PACKMATE® dog carrier backpack, automatically activated at the time of purchase. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, including faulty stitching, zippers, or hardware (e.g., buckles or straps) that fail under normal use. If your PACKMATE® is found to have a manufacturing defect within the warranty period, we’ll repair or replace it at no additional cost, subject to the terms below.

What is not covered under the warranty?

The warranty does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, improper use, or neglect. Examples include, but are not limited to:  

• Tears, rips, or abrasions from accidents, rough handling, or pet scratching/chewing.  
• Damage from overloading the backpack beyond its recommended weight capacity (please refer to the product manual for weight limits).  
• Fading, discoloration, or deterioration due to prolonged exposure to sunlight, water, or harsh weather conditions.  
• Modifications or repairs made by unauthorized parties.  
• Damage from cleaning with improper methods or harsh chemicals (e.g., bleach).

How do I activate my warranty?

No action is required! Your 1-year warranty is automatically activated on the date of purchase. Please retain your proof of purchase (e.g., receipt or order confirmation) as it may be required to process a warranty claim.

How do I file a warranty claim?

If you believe your PACKMATE® has a manufacturing defect, please contact our customer support team at mike@packmatecarriers.com within the 1-year warranty period. Provide your proof of purchase and a brief description of the issue, along with photos or videos of the defect if possible. Our team will review your claim and guide you through the next steps, which may include returning the product for inspection, repair, or replacement. - Measure length (base of tail to base of neck)
- Chest (circumference of chest measured behind front legs).
- Add 1-2 booster blocks if less than 23 in / 58 cm.
- Adjust retractable/expandable zippers as needed. 
- Ensure the dog's head clears the top of the backpack
- Ensure the internal support harness is secure.

Important Limitation Considerations:

- Min Length: 18.5 in (47 cm) with 2 boosters; shorter dogs won’t have head clearance.
- Max Length: 26 in (66 cm); longer dogs won’t fit.
- Min Chest: 15 in (38 cm); smaller chests may slip out of the internal support harness.
- Max Chest: 31.5 in (80 cm); larger chests won’t fit, even with fully expanded setting.
